We designed and executed this project for a client based in the USA. The apartment was used primarily when he was in the UK on business, and so required a simple to use system that easily translated from his automation system in the States.
Please note. Some images have been changed to protect the anonymity of the property owners and their family. Occasionally stock imagery has been used to do this. Full project photos, including before and after photos are always available on request and with the owners permission.
This two bedroom apartment in Kensington was converted in 2016, with the client looking to add an automation system to mimic the system he had in his American home.
We provided a smart lighting system using Lutron’s HomeWorks wired lighting. The owner also has remote control over all the lighting and shading systems within the property, allowing him to adjust it from anywhere on the planet.
We distributed audio and video to four independent zones using a traditional 4K video and audio matrix across a solid wired and wireless networking backbone.
Smart home security was offered in the form of Axis security cameras which are remotely accessible, giving the owner the reassuring ability to check in to the property from anywhere in the world.
Rich media options are displayed on the latest Samsung 4K OLED screens.
Control was provided by a combination of Crestron wall keypads and iPad apps, offering the owner the freedom to roam between zones using a mixture of wall-mounted and free to roam devices. Each controller was multizonal, so could be used to control any zone from any room, anywhere in the world.
The project was perfectly suited for a client who needed to control both his properties from the same control platform, from anywhere in the world.
